PM Wants BTN To Intensify 1Malaysia Concept In Its Modules

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 15 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has instructed the Biro Tata Negara (BTN) or National Civics Bureau to intensify the elements of the 1Malaysia concept in its courses and seminars.Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Ahmad Maslan said the prime minister gave the instruction during a one-hour meeting with 30 BTN officials at Parliament House here today.Hence, Ahmad said, several briefings would be conducted for over 2,000 BTN facilitators and lecturers next month to enable them to get a deeper understanding of the concept."We will ensure that the BTN courses also inculcate the 1Malaysia concept and its eight values, namely high performance culture, accuracy, knowledge, innovation, integrity, strong will, loyalty and wisdom," Ahmad told a press conference at Parliament's lobby.On other development, he said a special festival, dubbed "Ikatan Hati Warga Felda (Iktiraf) 2009, would be held at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) main campus in Shah Alam with the aim to bring the Felda settlers closer to the urban community.He said the festival would be held for three days beginning Dec 18."The prime minister is expected to open the festival and present the Malaysia Felda Youth Perdana Cup 2009 and other awards to Felda associations which have recorded excellence performance," he added.
